A building fire in downtown Spokane sent plumes of chemical-ridden smoke high into the air, visible for miles around. Every on-duty firefighter from the Spokane Fire Department was at the scene. The Joel Building housed a photography studio, a restaurant and several nearly completed condos.

I shot this with a standard-def Sony DCR-SR200 and edited it in Final Cut. This was on deadline. Other than running around amid tons of smoke, the challenge here was audio. With so many engines and pumps and radios making racket, it's hard to find a place to do interviews.
